Anne Daly, MS, RD, BC-ADM, CDE
A nationally recognized author, consultant, and expert in diabetes care and education, obesity and weight management. A national Past-President, Health Care & Education of the American Diabetes Association, she was a co-founder of the Springfield Diabetes & Endocrine Center in Springfield, IL, the largest diabetes practice between Chicago and St. Louis. As Director of Nutrition and Diabetes Education there, she manages an American Diabetes Association Education Recognized Program and a comprehensive weight management/lifestyle change program. Previously, Anne served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. An award-winning dietitian, Anne is the recipient of numerous honors from the American Dietetic Association and its Illinois Affiliate, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). She has received the prestigious Medallion Award from the American Dietetic Association, the Distinguished Service Award from the Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association, and numerous awards from the American Diabetes Association, including the Rachmeil Levine Award for Distinguished Service, the Outstanding Educator in Diabetes, Outstanding Dietitian of the Year, Outstanding Legislative Activity Award, and the People Recruiting People Award.
She is active in district, state, and national dietetic and diabetes associations, and has served in numerous appointed and elected positions. Currently, Anne serves Public Policy Coordinator for the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association, a member of the national Nominating Committee of The American Dietetic Association and the Professional Practice Committee of AADE. Anne has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and publications for the public, including 101 Tips for Weight Loss to Prevent and Treat Diabetes and 101 Diabetes & Nutrition Q & A for Health Professionals, both published by the American Diabetes Association. Anne's passion for excellence in diabetes care, prevention of diabetes complications, and advocating for people with diabetes has characterized her 30 year career.
